He’s still in America and his two friends that he met the year before are there with him.ĭuBois: In the next part of the series, the characters are in a very southern Alabama city. So what is it like when all of his princely power is stripped away? This does play into the next book as well. So I wanted to put him in a school on the Southside of Chicago that doesn't have all of the resources that he has in Wakanda, and he has to remain anonymous. So I wondered what would it be like if he had all of his privilege taken away? I wanted to get him out of Wakanda and see who is this 12 year old, really? Since I lived in Chicago for 14 years, I knew that city very well. Smith: Well you know that T’Challa comes from Wakanda where he is a prince so he’s got bodyguards, and people waiting on him hand and foot.
